Here is a picture of Intag, Ecuador, a cloud forest zone of about 5 people. All 5 people are very dear friends of ours and we have visited them numerous times. We hope to again visit them for a month next spring. Ok, maybe there's more than 5 people. Maybe like 25. Rio Intag runs through these coffee-growing farms, and I have spent many a cool evening at the termales Nangulvi which is heated by volcanic springs. We lived in Cotacachi, a quaint tourist town high in the Andes about 2 hours from here. But Intag is where my heart is. It's where orchids bloom at every turn, the coffee is always fresh and hot, butterflies whisper secrets in your ears, and the children laugh at all your jokes in a language they do not know. I hope to live here one day. Permanently. In the meantime, we're very lucky to have friends that live right on the river that we can come visit anytime.
